Our Promise
We will never sell your data. Period. DotDot exists to help runners share their runs safely, not to monetize your information.
What We Collect
- •Account information: your email and profile data, managed through Clerk (our authentication provider)
- •Running data: GPS coordinates, pace, distance, and heart rate from your Garmin device via LiveTrack
- •Cheers and messages: messages, replies and reactions left on runners' tracking pages. Reactions record which signed-in account left them, so each one counts once; cheers and replies are anonymous unless the sender is signed in
How We Use Your Data
- •Display your real-time location on your tracking page
- •Send notifications when someone cheers you on
- •Show your run history on your profile
Who Can See Your Data
You control visibility through your privacy settings:
- •Public: anyone with your link can see your tracking page
- •Friends only: only approved followers can view your runs
- •Private: your tracking page is hidden from everyone
- •Home zone blur: automatically hides your location near your home address
Third-Party Services
- •Clerk: handles authentication and account management
- •Cloudflare: infrastructure, hosting, backend logic, and email delivery to you and your followers
- •Garmin: source of your running and GPS data via LiveTrack
- •Mapbox: renders the maps on tracking pages; map tiles are requested from Mapbox as the map moves
- •Telegram: delivers notifications to followers who opt in to the Telegram bot
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We do not sell your data to third parties. Run data is kept for as long as your account exists: you can hide older runs automatically with the auto-hide privacy setting, and deleting your account removes your data.
Your Rights
- •Delete your account and all associated data at any time
- •Change your privacy settings whenever you want
- •Remove followers from your account at any time
