Your crew is sitting in a car park with a printed spreadsheet that stopped being true somewhere around kilometre 60, refreshing a dot that has not moved in twenty minutes. Race Mode is for that moment.
Not a dot on a map. A time. Worked out from the pace actually being run, the climb still ahead, and how the race is fading, so nobody drives to Vallorcine three hours early.
Ninety minutes of buffer, then forty-five, then twenty. Read out while you can still do something about it, not after the marshal pulls your bib.
Drop the race GPX and the aid stations come with it. Add the cutoffs from the roadbook once, in the taper, not on the start line.
Your crew taps one button where they are standing and gets the time you reach that exact corner. Their location is used once and never stored.

I built DotDot because the people who care about you should not need a Garmin account to follow your run. That part will always be free.
Privacy is not a premium feature either. Home zone hiding, delayed position and follower approval exist to protect you, and charging for them never sat right.
Race Mode is different. It is the work of a crew chief with a spreadsheet and a calculator, done properly, for the handful of days a year when it decides whether you finish. That one is worth paying for. The rest is not going anywhere.
